POLY(GLYCOLIDECO-CAPROLACTONE) PGCL

Poly(glycolide-co-caprolactone) or PGCL is a biodegradable copolymer used in various biomedical applications, including drug delivery systems, tissue engineering, and sutures. It is a blend of two monomers: glycolide and caprolactone, which are synthesized to create a polymer with specific properties that make it valuable in medical contexts.

Biodegradability: Similar to other biodegradable polymers, PGCL breaks down into simpler, naturally occurring molecules through hydrolysis when exposed to bodily fluids. This process allows for gradual degradation over time, eliminating the need for removal after the healing process is complete.
